There is a saying that "It's the thought that counts..."
I would like to disagree. My saying goes like this, "It's getting it right that counts." For example, today, Ash brought me a delicious lunch of pasta salad, barbecue sandwiches and coke zero. I immediately noticed two problems:
1. Hot sandwiches are not meant to be served on cold bread
2. I hate cold pasta of any sort
So, I was faced with a dilemma...let Ash forever get this wrong, and make today easier. Or, correct her now and help her love me better for a lifetime. I think you know which option I chose.
Merry Christmas! Get it right this year.

nice. could you spread some of this holiday love to krista?
All I want to say is, when I check this blog, this is type of entry I am hoping for. To a new year with only twice cooked pasta.
Dave - Don't know anyone who could sound like less of an A#$ while making a great point.
oh my - i had my very own "does the thought count?" moment only a few nights ago...
i realize that it is a great and wonderful thing that bk makes the bed without complaint. the thing is that because i have been so grateful that he makes an attempt to make the bed i have never felt quite right about asking to make it well. the other conflict for me is that i know i am a bit crazy & wish i didn't care about how the bed looks but i do.
well, in the interest of "helping him love me better for a lifetime" i kindly suggested that he make the bed in such a way that i don't have to remake it when i come home.
can't say it was well-received but to bk's credit, he was the bigger person and the very next day the bed was made - still with a bk flair - but with pillows and sheets in their designated spots.
this all being said, i sure hope you told ash how much you appreciated the effort & loved the coke zero!
