Last week I had my first trip away from home... despite my concern, all went perfectly and the family has been reunited in one piece! It was actually so good to get away for a few days and catch up on some sleep and work! I went back to San Fran to work and it was just so nice to be back in the work mode! Now... don't get me wrong, I love working from home and hanging with my little monkey and by no means want to go back full time, BUT it was nice to get a few days in.
Amazing enough, I could work 7am-Midnight everyday and it is still far easier than motherhood! I did not know what I signed up for! 24 hours a day. Luckily, Dave is very helpful with feedings and snuggles and offers all the time to get up with her in the middle of the night. I do take him up on it from time to time- usually when I am about to lose control! The good news is one look at her little face can calm you right back down and make you sorry you were ever frustrated! Honestly though, although still so busy, it is getting easier and we are getting into more of a routine. She is settling herself down a lot better now so I can actually sit her down while she is still awake and she usually won't scream her head off!
The point of the post... when I was in San Fran, I met Dave's family for dinner. Susie brought a scrapbook with her that had pics of Dave when he was a baby. I immediately freaked out and could not believe I was staring at my daughter right there in December of 1980! Scary.... Can you tell them apart?

I love those baby pictures--I've been meaning to do the same thing with a baby picture of Steffen. It's amazing how much these baby girls look like their daddys!! :)
Wow! That's incredible. Why is it that the little girls always look just like their daddys after we carry them for 9 months/!?:)
